Work Party Today
The Tree Swallows arrived today. Didn't see them even yesterday, but today there were a couple pair and they were chattering away at me after I cleaned out the bird house (oops). It was warmer last week, and the cabbage is looking pretty good. The beet leaves turned red and look scraggly. Onions, chard and spinach I transplanted look great. Next year, just plant the spinach directly in the garden, though. The flea beetles are attacking the Mizuna pretty good, along with the kale. The carrots are up (yay!). The mesclun planted from seed never made it. Something that looks like baby lettuce was coming up in the main aisle next to a spot where a gardener let her lettuce go to seed, so I pulled some up and transplanted. Who knows. Planted marigold seeds outside the fence yesterday.
